How the Timeshare Sale Process Works
A step-by-step guide for selling a timeshare directly to a buyer — no agent required.
Create a Seller Account
Register for free on BidMyTimeshare.com. You need a valid email address. No credit card is required to register. Once registered, you can access the listing creation form immediately.
Submit Your Listing
Enter your resort name, country, week number (or floating/points type), unit size, and asking price. Upload your own photos — listings with photos receive significantly more enquiries. Our AI tool can suggest a title and description based on the resort details.
Choose a Listing Type and Pay the Fee
Select auction (7-day countdown, from $18), fixed-price sale (6 months from $32, or 24 months from $65), or rental (from $18). Pay the one-time listing fee. There is 0% commission — you keep 100% of the sale price. Timeshares priced under $1,000 qualify for a free 12-month listing.
Listing Review (24 hours)
The BidMyTimeshare.com team reviews every listing within 24 hours to verify it meets the platform's quality standards. You will receive a confirmation email once your listing is live.
Receive Enquiries, Bids, and Offers
Buyers can message you directly through the platform, place bids (auction listings), or submit a formal offer (fixed-price listings). You are free to negotiate price, transfer cost allocation, and timeline directly with any interested buyer.
Accept an Offer and Generate the Sales Contract
Once you and a buyer agree on the price and terms, the platform generates a digital Sales Agreement PDF. This document includes both parties' details, the resort name, week number, agreed price, and payment terms. No lawyer is required for this step, though you may choose to engage one.
Sign the Agreement
Both buyer and seller sign the Sales Agreement. Signing can be done physically (printing and scanning) or digitally using any e-signature tool of your choice. The platform does not require a specific signing method — the agreement between buyer and seller is what matters.
Receive Payment
The buyer pays the agreed price directly to the seller. Common payment methods include bank transfer (IBAN/SWIFT), PayPal, or other agreed methods. BidMyTimeshare.com does not hold or process the payment — it goes directly between buyer and seller.
Complete the Ownership Transfer
Contact the resort or its management company to initiate the ownership transfer. Both parties will typically need to sign a resort transfer form and pay any transfer fee charged by the resort (not by BidMyTimeshare.com). Transfer fees typically range from $0 to $500. The resort will update the membership records to reflect the new owner.
