How to sell Hapimag shares and points

Hapimag shares can be sold to other members through Hapimag's own Marketplace, transferred to family or sold privately. Using the Marketplace is free, but Hapimag charges the seller a handling fee of CHF 80 per transfer (its members page lists CHF 120 for private transfers outside the family), and only active shares with the annual charge paid can be sold. Residence points can also be sold separately on Hapimag's Points Platform at a capped price. If you simply want to stop paying, Hapimag lets members pause a share or end their active membership while keeping the share.

What you are selling

A Hapimag membership is a share in the Swiss company. Each share carries an annual charge of CHF 340.80 (EUR 363.84 at the 1 January conversion rate) for owners of one or two shares, with discounts from the third share, and credits 60 residence points a year, which Hapimag says are valid for 10 years. Hapimag's membership page gives the average share price on its Marketplace as EUR 2,000.

Buyers always acquire a share under Hapimag's latest general terms and conditions, whichever product you held. Hapimag's membership page also states that its product is not for purchase by persons in the United Kingdom.

Selling through the Hapimag Marketplace

Hapimag's help centre sets out four steps: list the share, with or without points, on the Marketplace; agree a sale; request the transfer documents from within the listing; and upload the documents signed by both parties so that the shares and any residence points can be transferred. The Marketplace only puts sellers in touch with buyers: the price, payment and collection are agreed and settled directly between seller and buyer.

A listing stays up for at most six months, and a listing that includes expiring points is removed three months before those points expire. Once the signed documents have reached Hapimag, a sale can only be cancelled with the buyer's consent. Shares held for a product owner (subpartner) can be sold, but the shareholder must sign the transfer documents personally.

Selling points separately

You can include residence points with a share, or keep them to use, transfer to another member or sell separately on Hapimag's Points Platform. Points sold there are capped at a price Hapimag calculates by dividing the annual charge by the number of points credited per share each year; the shareholders' association H-AV reports the cap as EUR 6.06 per point. Only high-season points can be sold, and after buying points a member cannot sell any points for one year, except points expiring that calendar year.

Points expiring in the current year can be used for arrivals up to 30 June, transferred to family and friends, or sold on the Points Platform until the day before they expire. A transfer to another member works only within the recipient's annual purchase allowance, and the recipient needs an active share and an account without arrears.

If you just want to stop paying

Hapimag's membership page says members can terminate their active membership at the end of any calendar year by notifying Hapimag by 30 September, keeping the share but paying no further annual charges unless they reactivate. Its member topics page says a share can first be paused three years after the contract was signed, at the end of a calendar year with six months' notice, after which no annual charge is due and no points are credited.

Paused shares can be reactivated at any time and then used again, sold on the Marketplace or transferred to friends. Hapimag's October 2020 Classic terms allowed Hapimag to buy back a share that had been paused for more than five years in total, at book value in cash or residence points.

Austrian members: the 2026 Supreme Court ruling

Austria's Supreme Court confirmed in April 2026 that 48 clauses Hapimag used with Austrian consumers are unlawful, including the buy-back clause, the requirement for Hapimag's consent to share transfers, the transfer fee clause and a five-year validity for residence points. The Austrian consumer association VKI says Hapimag members are consumers despite being shareholders and can reclaim fees paid under the unlawful clauses.

The shareholders' association H-AV reports that Hapimag then sent Austrian shareholders a termination notice with an offer to switch to new terms, and that those who declined left on 30 June 2025 but could still sell their shares and use or sell their points until December 2025.

How a share sale works, step by step

  1. Check that the share can be sold

Only active shares on which the annual charge is paid can be listed, and members with outstanding invoices cannot buy or sell shares. Reactivate a paused share first.

  2. Decide what happens to your points

Include the residence points in the sale, keep them to use, give them to another member or sell them on the Points Platform.

  3. Advertise the share

List it on the Hapimag Marketplace and advertise it more widely: on BidMyTimeshare.com buyers contact you directly, and you decide which offer to accept.

  4. Agree the price and payment

Price, payment and collection are agreed directly between you and the buyer, so put them in writing.

  5. Request the transfer documents

Only the seller can request them, through the Marketplace under Points & Shares > Visit Marketplace > Sell Share > Request Documents; an automated email follows, and the invoice for the handling fee arrives with the documents.

  6. Sign and upload

Both seller and buyer sign the transfer documents, which are uploaded to the Marketplace listing so that Hapimag can transfer the shares and any residence points.

Avoid points fraud

Hapimag warned in August 2025 that scammers on classified ad sites such as eBay offer Hapimag points at attractive prices using the identities of real members, and break off contact once they have been paid. Hapimag says its points price cap is meant to prevent speculation and commercial trading in points.

  • Buy and sell residence points only through Hapimag's official Points Platform, as Hapimag advises.
  • Report a points scam immediately to the police and to the website concerned.
  • Never pay a stranger for points outside the Points Platform, however attractive the price.
  • On BidMyTimeshare.com you pay a one-time fee to publish your advertisement for a share. We do not deal with buyers for you, take part in the sale or promise that your share will sell.
