The Area & Things To Do

Park City is best known for winter sports, but it's genuinely a year-round destination. Park City Mountain Resort, one of the largest ski areas in North America, is only about 3 km from the resort, and Deer Valley Resort is roughly 5 km away for those who prefer its quieter, more refined slopes. The Canyons Village, around 2 km away, adds further terrain, plus dining and shopping options. Closer still, Main Street Park City (about 1 km away) is the town's historic core, lined with galleries, restaurants and bars housed in historic mining-era buildings, and the Park City Museum nearby covers the town's silver-mining history. Outside ski season, the same trails and lift systems open up for hiking and mountain biking, and Park City hosts outdoor festivals through the warmer months. January brings the Sundance Film Festival, which is worth knowing about if you're renting out your week — demand and rates in town tend to rise sharply during that period.
